Indie Shop Fall 2016 Interviews - CbL

Hello Loves!!

I am excited to show you this project I've been working on for the last two weeks. In preparation for the upcoming Indie Shop on November 5th in Torrance California, I've interviewed all the vendors that will be there. From today until the event, I will be posting an interview a day so that you can get to know each and every one of the faces behind the brands.
Now.... TO THE INTERVIEW!!!

Today I present to you CbL!

What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Leah Ann LaRowe. I was born and raised in Texas and now live outside of Denver, Colorado. Up until our move to Colorado we lived in multiple states as we had a construction business and were in a new state/city every few months during the summer. We installed snow making equipment in ski resorts and we worked on the Olympic village in Park City, Utah. It was amazing seeing new places and meeting new friends.

When did you start CbL?
I started making polish for myself in 2010. I launched CbL in 2011.

What is meaning behind CbL and how did you come up with your brand name?
The three initials of Color by Llarowe. My brand name started as Colors by Llarowe and CbL became a tag name as it was easier to type. The brand name was shortened to CbL soon after.

What do you love about what you do?
The creation process. I will sit down to make a polish and before I realize it I have been in the lab for hours. Colors fascinate me and seeing how a pigment can change a polish and how colors meld together is like opening a package at Christmas. I never get tired of creating as my prototype room can attest to. I have hundreds if not thousands of bottles sitting in testing but I still continue to create and be amazed.

What are some of your hobbies or favorite pastimes?
I have a love/hate relationship with running. Running clears my head and cures my stress but again, as with anything I do, I take it to extremes and sometimes cannot walk the next day. Snowboarding in the winter and wake boarding in the summer are my passions. I am still trying to perfect my 360 on the wake board and have the bruises to show for it. I am obsessed with Pokemon Go and play every day. I love to refinish furniture and am always on the hunt for new pieces.

Will this be your first event like Indie Shop and if not what do you like about doing events like this?
No, I have done a few events but am not a veteran like some makers. I love meeting the customers and putting a face to a name. I don't get much interaction being a web based business and it is always nice to have that interaction face to face.

What will you be bringing to Indie Shop and will you be offering an event exclusive for attendees?
I will be contributing a VIP bag exclusive and 3 limited edition polishes. I hope everyone loves them.
 Avant-Garde (VIP Bag Exclusive)
Arc De Triomphe
Mona Lisa

Boulangerie

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you or CbL?
I hope everyone gets as much joy from using my polish as I get making them. This business is my passion and I hope that shows in my creations!

Thank you so much Leah Ann for taking the time to do this with me. I am excited for Indie Shop and I can't wait to stop by to say hi and shop.

There you have it! I hope you guys enjoyed learning a little more about CbL. Make sure to "Like" their Facebook page, and "Follow" them on Instagram for up to date information about things to come.
