Indie Shop Spring 2017 Interviews - Pepper Pot Polish

Hello Loves!!
Spring Indie Shop is right around the corner! Only 13 days left!! Let the countdown begin.
In preparation for the upcoming Indie Shop on May 13th in Torrance California, I've interviewed all the vendors that will be there. I will be posting interviews so that you can get to know each and every one of the faces behind the brands.
Now.... TO THE INTERVIEW!!!
Today I present to you Pepper Pot Polish!

What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Mackenzie Putscher and I live in Tacoma, Washington.

When did you start Pepper Pot Polish?
I started Pepper Pot Polish in the summer of 2014.

What is meaning behind Pepper Pot Polish and how did you come up with your brand name?
A Pepper Pot is slang for a brash, sassy, smart alec-y lady and it just felt right because I'm a bit of a smart ass and a little snarky; I'm also a feminist, so having a brand that embraces the strong willed, loud voiced lady was something I was really into. Also? Alliteration is really fun.

What do you love about what you do?
There are so many facets to this job that I find satisfying, it's hard to list just one thing! The creation, of course, is top of my list; the ability to visualize something I want to try, make it, fail, try again, and then finally figure out how to do it is super rewarding. I also love getting to meet new fans of my product, chat about their lives and what they do and just get to see a variety of people. I am a strong advocate of women(and men!) following their desire to rock whatever sassy outfit/makeup they want, and I will be the first to tell them to throw away whatever too old/too young/too whatever societal/preconceived notion they have of what they should or shouldn't wear and to just do it!

What are your favorite finishes or colors to work with?
I find that I change my preferences depending on what I'm trying to create. I don't want to be too stagnant and make the same thing over and over again, so I try not to get too stuck in one style/range. I mean, I obviously have more cremes than anything else, but I'm beginning to stretch myself a little bit and experiment with a wider variety of finishes. Baby steps! As for favorite color....I love orange! A nice creamy, vintage-y, mid-century modern orange is my jam..or maybe a burnt orange...or a pastel creamsicle-y orange. All orange, all the time.

Will this be your first event like Indie Shop and if not what do you like about doing events like this?
This is my first time! I had an opportunity to visit in November, and I shopped my little heart out and met some really awesome and nice people. I'm super excited to hang with everyone this time around as a vendor.

How long does it take to prepare for events like Indie Shop?
I've been working on product for this event for at least 3 months now. Along with selling online, I also have multiple wholesale accounts around my city and out of state, so it's been interesting. I honestly don't believe I'll ever be "ready", but that's just me; I always feel like I'm under prepared.

The event theme is Candy Shop, what's your favorite candy? Will you have any candy themed products?
I am a super fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, anyting peanut butter and chocolate! I'm going to be bringing some candy themed nail polish to the event, and I hope everyone likes them!

What will you be bringing to Indie Shop and will you be offering an event exclusive for attendees?
I'm going to be bringing most of my polish to the Shop, along with some fun glosses that I make(and maybe my bath/body oil. I'm debating.). I also plan on bringing limited editions with me...I'm so excited for them! It's been so much fun planning for this event!

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you or Pepper Pot Polish?
I think if there's anything anyone wants to know about me/my brand, they should totally feel welcome to stop by my table and say hi! I'm excited to meet all of you!

Thank you so much Mackenzie for taking the time to do this with me. I am excited for Indie Shop and I can't wait to stop by to say hi and shop with you.
