Summer Indie Shop is exactly two weeks away!

Today I have another interview for you beautiful souls.

As you know, in preparation for the upcoming Indie Shop on July 29th in San Francisco California, I interviewed all the vendors that will be there. I will be posting interviews so that you can get to know each and every one of the faces behind the brands as well as what they'll be bringing and some fun facts about them.

Now.... TO THE INTERVIEW!!!

Today I present to you Moon Shine Mani!

What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Phoebe Moon and I am from Tracy, California.

Will this be your first Indie Shop? If yes, what are you excited about or looking forward to? If not, what do you like about vending at Indie Shop?

This will be my second Indie shop as a vendor. My favorite part is meeting all my fellow indie polish-lovers, and well, all that beautiful, inspired nail polish in one room is like heaven.

Will you have event exclusives or LEs for the event? If yes, what are they and are they ocean or mermaid themed?

We will have a LE at the event. Our LE polish is named Mermaid Tears and it's a teal crelly base with pink/green/gold shifting flakies, orange/green/gold shifting glitter, and pink/holographic glitter.

 

If you had the chance to turn into a mermaid, would you and why?

I don't think so because I've always been afraid of large bodies of water since my dad showed me JAWS when I was 8 or 9. But I've always appreciated the captivating beauties inside the ocean... but from afar.

Do you love the ocean and if yes, what about the ocean do you like?

Coral reefs are probably one of my favorite oceanic wonders. I'm also entranced by the sometimes sparkling turquoise waters.

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you or Moon Shine Mani?

We're thrilled to be bringing our Wonder Woman-inspired Trio called Princess of the Amazons, and to debut our Summer Neons called Like, Totally Tubular!

I will be posting interviews so that you can get to know each and every one of the faces behind the brands as well as what they'll be bringing and some fun facts about them.

Now.... TO THE INTERVIEW!!!

Today I present to you Polished for Days!

What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Jenna Barbour and I am from Santa Cruz, California.

Will this be your first Indie Shop? If yes, what are you excited about or looking forward to? If not, what do you like about vending at Indie Shop?

This will be my first indie shop, as well as my first ever in person event! I am so excited to finally meet other makers and customers in person!

Will you have event exclusives or LEs for the event? If yes, what are they and are they ocean or mermaid themed?

I will have one event exclusive polish called "Life is the Bubbles". It is very much mermaid and ocean themed! It is a bright blue base packed with shimmer and flakes galore! There will be a 3 bottle limit on our event exclusive, Life is the Bubbles, and they will be $11.00.

 The other item we are so excited to finally announce to our lineup are KEY CHAINS! Our first key chain will be an Indie Shop exclusive with the event exclusive polish "Life is the Bubbles." Our exclusive key chains will be $7.50.

The theme for the event is mermaids. Are you bringing other products that are ocean or mermaid themed? (Besides Exclusives or LEs)

Yes! We will have a 6 piece Sea Nymphs Pt. 2 collection launching the day of the event. It will be available 7/29 at the event and online for everyone who can't make it to the show.

If you had the chance to turn into a mermaid, would you and why? 

I totally would, but maybe only for a week or so. I love being around people all the time so I think I would get bored after a while. But it would be amazing to experience being an ocean goddess for a few days!

Do you love the ocean and if yes, what about the ocean do you like?

I have always loved the ocean! I was born and raised in Santa Cruz with the ocean blocks from my house, so it's always been a big part of my life. My dad has spent his entire life being a surf photographer, so I was always surrounded the ocean in one way or another.

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you or Polished for Days?

I'm so excited and honored to be able to be at this event. Thank you so much to Melody and the Nvr Enuff beauties for putting this on for us! You guys are so kind and amazing. Thank you for putting so much time and thought into these events! We can't wait to meet everyone!

Indie Shop Summer 2017 Interviews - Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish

It's that time again. Summer Indie Shop is fast approaching! 

In preparation for the upcoming Indie Shop on July 29th in San Francisco California, I've interviewed all the vendors that will be there. From today until the event, I will be posting interviews so that you can get to know each and every one of the faces behind the brands as well as what they'll be bringing and some fun facts about them.

Today I present to you Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish!

What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Kristen Beals and I am originally from San Mateo, California. I currently reside just outside Tampa, Florida.

When did you start Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish?

I started Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish in June of 2015, from a paperwork aspect, and then launched on October 12 of 2015.

What do you love about what you do?

All of it really. I love seeing ideas come to life and creating new colors, and then seeing other people get excited over the things that I have created. It brings me so much joy to see manicures and nail art that customers have created using my polishes. Running a business is a strange beast, but the creative process is very rewarding for me.

Will this be your first Indie Shop? If yes, what are you excited about or looking forward to? If not, what do you like about vending at Indie Shop?

I have attended all of The Indie Shops save for one (the most recent in LA). I love being able to interact with customers face-to-face and spending time getting to know other makers. I am especially excited about this Indie Shop since the SF Bay Area is my home and the event is 3 days after my birthday (July 26th). My family is still in the Bay Area, so I will get to spend my birthday with my twin sister and my family prior to the event.

Will you have event exclusives or LEs for the event? If yes, what are they and are they ocean or mermaid themed?

Yes. I will have a VIP Bag Exclusive, an event exclusive, and an LE Duo that are all mermaid themed. Somehow as I was developing them they all took on a Little Mermaid vibe, so I named them accordingly.

The theme for the event is mermaids. Are you bringing other products that are ocean or mermaid themed? (Besides Exclusives or LEs)

Yes, I am working on a special nautical themed cuticle oil for the event, and several different bath teas. The bath teas are a new product for my brand that I will be debuting at The Indie Shop.

If you had the chance to turn into a mermaid, would you and why?
Probably not unless I could turn back, because I would miss driving my truck too much.

Do you love the ocean and if yes, what about the ocean do you like?

Yes. I am a Leo (fire sign) and so I am naturally grounded by the (opposite) ocean. I love sunning on the beach, and I have always gravitated towards the ocean when my soul needs calming. There is something very soothing about standing in front of something that vast and powerful.

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about you or Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish?

My polishes are 5-free, cruelty free, gluten free, and vegan.

Tastes Like Blurple - Envy Lacquer Indie Shop May 2017 Exclusive

Hello Loves!!

I'm so excited to be sharing the exclusive that Envy Lacquer brought to Indie Shop back in May. This polish is beautiful and I was a bit surprised when I wore it this past week. 

Let's get to the pictures!

 This is Tastes Like Blurple from Envy Lacquer.

 

This polish is the perfect mix between blue and purple. It's a holo polish but it did surprise me because it also has purple to green shifting flakies.

The formula on this polish was amazing. It went on like butter, didn't flood my cuticles and I didn't have to do any clean up. That's a major win in my book. I also only needed two coats for perfect coverage which is a big plus. 

Unfortunately this polish was an exclusive for Indie Shop back in May so it's no longer available.

 

I haven't seen it for sale on any destash pages but then again I'm on a strict no buy in preparation for Indie Shop on July 29th here in San Francisco and Indie Shop on October 13th in San Antonio so I haven't been paying much attention.

If you see this anywhere and you're able to get your hands  on it... GO FOR IT! You will not be disappointed.
